VOLUNTEER WITH US

WE COULDN’T DO WHAT WE DO WITHOUT OUR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS! WE ALWAYS NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US WITH OUR LESSONS AND AROUND THE BARN.

If you’d like to be added to our next volunteer orientation, please use the sign up form below. Our volunteer orientations are for side walking in our Therapeutic Riding lessons. We require all volunteers to go through our orientations.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Volunteers should be able to walk unassisted for up to an hour.

Our orientations are held seasonally throughout the year on Saturday’s 10:00AM - 12:30PM.

Abby Anacone

“Bits of Freedom has positively made a difference in my life. I have got to learn how people with disabilities may do things differently while riding a horse. Also, how their movements are and how their hands are placed. When I was a child, I was one of these kids, which helped me tremendously. Now, I would like to use my experience and help the kids who are struggling  with the same problems. I can be part of the program, where there are friendly people who are volunteering and donating their time to be part of their lives. Shelly Even showed me that patience goes a long way by putting effort into schedules for the kids and mine. She is teaching me how to do the tack and the kids' safety while riding the horses.  Since I was little, I have been around horses, and I was always believed there is something for me that I can do for my community. Every time I see the riders smile it feels my heart with joy and happiness. Even though it is a non-Profit organization, I still enjoy volunteering and making a difference.”
